Recognition file: documents, certification and sworn translation

Incomplete files delay nurses more often than professional differences do.

Recognition file: documents, certification and sworn translation

The authority assesses your file, not you in person. A missing document usually causes months of standstill rather than rejection.

  • Passport, professional diploma and certificates
  • Hours/curriculum statement — the single most important document
  • Proof of professional experience
  • Certificate of current professional status
  • Medical fitness certificate, German-style CV, language certificate
Order matters

The usual sequence is: certify first (with an apostille where the Hague Convention applies), then have a court-sworn translator translate. Which form of certification is accepted is determined by the competent recognition authority.

Checklist
  • Request the curriculum early
  • Certify before translating
  • Keep name spelling consistent
