Recognition file: documents, certification and sworn translation
Incomplete files delay nurses more often than professional differences do.

The authority assesses your file, not you in person. A missing document usually causes months of standstill rather than rejection.
- Passport, professional diploma and certificates
- Hours/curriculum statement — the single most important document
- Proof of professional experience
- Certificate of current professional status
- Medical fitness certificate, German-style CV, language certificate
Order matters
The usual sequence is: certify first (with an apostille where the Hague Convention applies), then have a court-sworn translator translate. Which form of certification is accepted is determined by the competent recognition authority.
Checklist
- Request the curriculum early
- Certify before translating
- Keep name spelling consistent
