Nursing FAQWhat nurses and healthcare employers ask

This is the dedicated page for all frequently asked questions about the nursing section — the nurses' side and the hospitals' side together. The path is employer-funded and covers professional recognition, employment, and entry and arrival, with no recruitment fees for the nurse.

01How does the nursing path with DokTing work?

Through a structured, employer-funded chain: a free initial assessment of your qualification and language, organisation, submission and follow-up of the recognition file, preparation for the employer interview with an employment contract before departure where hiring succeeds, coordination of the embassy file, and support on arrival and during the first weeks until recognition is complete.

02Why is the service free for nurses — and who pays?

Because the employer bears DokTing's fee under a written contract — that is what fair recruitment in Germany looks like. Nurses pay no recruitment or placement fees, and the allocation of external costs (authority fees, translations and the like) is set out in writing between the parties before the process starts.

03Do I need recognition of my qualification?

Nursing is a regulated profession in Germany: working as a recognised nursing professional requires professional recognition. We review your situation in the initial assessment and explain the appropriate administrative path — the official decision is made by the competent German authority.

04What language level is required?

It is set by the competent authority and the employer, often B1 or B2 depending on the federal state and the path. You can submit the initial assessment at any language level — language is one of the points we review for your next step.

05What is the difference between the classic path and the Anerkennungspartnerschaft?

In the classic path, recognition usually starts before arrival and you await the authority's decision. In the recognition partnership there is an employment contract and a written agreement with the employer, and recognition can — where the official requirements are met — be started or completed after arrival.

06Are there guarantees for either side?

No. We guarantee the nurse neither an employment contract nor a visa or recognition, and we guarantee the hospital no hiring outcome — final decisions rest with employers and the competent authorities. We sell no jobs and charge no fees against a promise of employment; our role is purely administrative and organisational.

07When is my profile shared with a hospital?

Only after the specific employer has been identified and named to you, the data to be shared has been explained, and you have given separate, explicit consent. There is no automatic sharing with an undefined list, and consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

08Can I apply from outside Germany?

In many cases, yes. The initial assessment also covers your country of residence in order to check regulatory recruitment restrictions before a case starts; those already in Germany can start as well.

09What happens after I send the initial assessment?

We review your details administratively, email you the result and the next suitable step, and where suitable provide a secure, time-limited upload link — the first form requests no documents or passport copies.

10For hospitals: how does cooperation start?

In four steps: a non-binding enquiry via the employer page form, then a pilot conversation to understand your needs, then a clear written agreement covering scope, fee, external costs and responsibilities — and finally the first case with a fixed contact person, regular updates and a review after the first arrival.

11For hospitals: which cooperation models are available?

Full Pipeline to manage the entire path from pre-check to initial stabilisation — or individual modules as needed: recognition case management, entry and visa coordination, arrival coordination and integration follow-up, complemented by internal support formats.

12For hospitals: are fixed public prices displayed?

No. The fee and scope are defined in a written agreement for each cooperation according to the cases and modules required; external costs are shown separately and transparently — and the nurse remains free of charge in every case.
